Job Notice – IT Security Manager

Placement - IT Company, HQ in Guildford with UK offices in London and Gloucester.

Outline of vacancy:

An IT Security Manager is required to assume day to day responsibility for the security of the company’s internal IT systems and to provide a centre of excellence for advice on IT security. The position will report to the Head of Risk Management and Security and work closely with both Security and Information System Group staff. The incumbent will manage the operation of IT protective monitoring and IT auditing tools and the assessment of reports. They will promote a high standard of administrator and user IT security disciplines. Familiar with ISO 27001 and List X standards, the incumbent will support the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure.

Experience required:

• Management of an IT security function in a government or corporate environment.
• Exposure to modern IT networks, architectures and devices and related security disciplines.
• Involvement with ISO27001, preferably within a certified organisation.
• Some familiarity with CESG installation and operating standards.
• Operation of access control, authentication and other best practice measures.
• Experience of Government information security standards and procedures would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

• Evidence of appropriate professional training and practical background.

Personal Qualities:

• Ability to work under own initiative and achieve results in tight timescales.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with both user and provider staff.
• Highly competent IT user.
• Appetite to stay in the forefront of new IT developments and techniques.
